About Our Chapter
Our History
The USMMA KP Alumni - Chesapeake Chapter was established in 1950 as one of the first official chapters of the USMMA Alumni Association. For over 70 years, we've been the primary connecting point for Kings Point graduates living in Maryland, Virginia, and the surrounding Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Our chapter was founded by a group of pioneering graduates who recognized the importance of maintaining the bonds forged at Kings Point and supporting the Academy's mission. From humble beginnings with just 50 members, we've grown to become one of the largest and most active alumni chapters in the nation.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission
To foster lifelong connections among USMMA alumni, support the Academy's recruitment and mission, and promote maritime excellence in the Chesapeake Bay region.
Vision
To be the most engaged and influential alumni chapter, ensuring every Kings Point graduate in our region remains connected to the Academy and each other.
Values
Honor, loyalty, service, and maritime tradition guide everything we do. We uphold the highest standards of the Merchant Marine service.
